The Museum of the Marine will have three main galleries, an orientation theater, a special exhibits gallery, and a court of honor.
Inside each of the three main galleries will be a Memory Zone. This exhibit is inspired by the Story Corps project. These Memory Zones will provide a place for visiting veterans to record their memories of their time in the Marine Corps. Future visitors, archivists and researchers will then be able to access edited versions of the clips at adjacent touch screens.
Visitors will enter the museum and step into the Great Hall. Imagine late afternoon sunlight streaming through majestic Ribbon Windows, coloring the floor with the proud colors of military campaign ribbons. Your journey begins bathed in the proud heritage of the Marine Corps.
