Liberty Bus gets a face lift
About 18 months ago, the Museum of the Marine transported one of its artifacts, the Liberty Bus, to St. Bride's Correctional Center in Chesapeake, VA. The project has been a tremendous success for both the Museum and St. Bride's. The Museum has had their bus renovated for a minimal cost and the inmates at St. Bride's have learned trades that can be used to obtain jobs when they leave the Correctional Center. View the video from Newschannel 3 in Virginia to see the transformation that has occurred:

Museum honors Coastal Carolina Students
The Museum of the Marine honored the students of the Coastal Carolina Architectural Technology Department on February 27, 2009 with lunch and certificates of appreciation for constructing a scale model of the museum building. The scale model was handmade by students who worked from architectural drawings using foam core, balsa wood, matt board and Plexiglas.
The Museum will display this model at various expos and trade shows throughout the year. In a press release from the college, Bill Ayers, interim director of the Museum said, "The quality of work by these students is just amazing."
