Board of Directors for the Museum of the Marine names Executive Director.
The Board of Directors for the Museum of the Marine is proud to announce that Ashley Danielson has been selected as the non-profit organization’s new Executive Director. Ms. Danielson is originally from Greensboro, NC, and has spent much of her career advocating for those less fortunate, from such positions as Vice President of Philanthropy, Executive Director, and Director of Development and Marketing. Ms. Danielson comes to our community most recently as the Senior Administrator for the Vidant Medical Center and Health Foundations in Greenville, NC.
Ms. Danielson’s connection to the Marine Corps is personal as well as professional. Her husband Jim, a professor at East Carolina University, is a former Marine, having served from 1976-1980; her stepson recently graduated from Parris Island and has since embarked on the very journey she aspires to memorialize in the Museum of the Marine’s fruition.
“After 30+ years of advocating on behalf of vulnerable populations – those who need protection – it is time for me to advocate on behalf of those who protect us all. Ensuring that the legacy of the Marines is never forgotten is an unimpeachable mission. The Museum will also honor the communities who long have supported the Marines in the Carolinas. Imagine standing in front of such a place – the palpable feeling of heroism, sacrifice, honor, and community – and knowing that you are a part of it.”
