Jacksonville, NC — The Carolina Museum of the Marine will officially open to the public on June 8, 2026, marking the debut of a new national landmark at Lejeune Memorial Gardens in Jacksonville, North Carolina.

Dedicated to honoring the service of Carolina Marines and Sailors and inspiring future generations, the Museum offers more than a traditional historical experience. It is a living tribute to character, courage, and commitment—designed to engage visitors of all ages through immersive exhibits, personal stories, and character-centered education.

“This museum is about more than preserving history,” said President and CEO Joe Shrader. “It is about passing forward the values that shape strong leaders, strong communities, and strong citizens. We focus on teaching not what to think, but how to think—using history as a guide.”
