LtGen Gary S. McKissock, USMC (Ret)

Lt Gen McKissock is a veteran of service in both Vietnam and Desert Storm/Desert Shield.

At the time of his retirement from the Corps, LtGen McKissock was Deputy Commandant of the Marine Corps for Installations and Logistics. Notable commands include Commander of Marine Corps Service Support Schools at Camp Johnson, NC, Commanding General 1st Force Service Support Group Camp Pendleton, CA, Commander I MEF Forward Logistics Support Base Kanjar during Desert Storm and Commanding General Marine Corps Logistics Bases which included Maintenance Depots in Albany, GA, Barstow, CA, and Blount Island, FL, while concurrently commanding the Marine Corps Material Command.

Since retirement he has served on corporate boards, has provided consulting services to numerous defense related corporations, was a Senior Fellow at the Institute for Defense and Business at UNC Chapel Hill and served as a Marine Corps Senior Mentor. Additionally,  he joined the NC Military Affairs Commission as Chairman of the Economic Development Committee. As a Commissioner on the US Congress mandated Independent Commission on the Security Forces of Iraq, and the US State Department’s Special Envoy for Middle East Regional Security, he was tasked for an on the ground evaluation of the logistic capabilities of both the Iraqi armed forces and the logistic capabilities and requirements of the West Bank Arab Administration within Israel. Currently he is developing a family owned restaurant business in Denver, NC.
